Buckhorn Baths Motel was once a celebrated mineral hot springs resort and roadside motel in east Mesa. Opened in 1939 by Ted and Alice Sliger, it became a popular desert retreat and played an important role in the early history of Arizona spring training baseball. The baths closed in 1999, and the motel and museum followed in the early 2000s. Today, its weathered  buildings and fading signage stand as a striking reminder of Mesa’s past.
